My yoga journey began in 2003 following a sports-related knee injury, and it was the physicality of the Bikram (Hot) Yoga practice that initially drew me in. From there I explored a variety of different yoga styles, and I was also introduced to Thai Yoga Massage. Intrigued by the breath/body/mind connection, and drawn to a structured and systematic approach, I focused more and more on Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and started to attend assisted self-practice (or “Mysore”) classes on a regular basis. Eventually, seeking a deeper understanding of yoga and my personal experiences of it, I embarked on a series of yoga teacher trainings, including Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga teacher training with John Scott Yoga (John Scott, Lucy Crawford, Greg Nardi, and David Keil). I also decided to pursue my interest in Thai Yoga Massage and completed a practitioner training with Kira Balaskas of the School of Thai Yoga Massage.
